Out main man for SWTOR – Eric Musco – made a post on the official forums regarding the event schedule for January 2016 Updated Event Schedule | 01.08.2016, 07:11 PM Hey folks, During the month of December, it was our goal to run all of our recurring events week over week. Unfortunately we hit a bug related to our scheduling and some of them didn’t run properly, including the Rakghoul Plague. We have isolated the issue and will have it fixed in Patch 4.0.4 on Tuesday. With that, we wanted to adjust the event schedule for January to give everyone an opportunity to run all of our events that they missed in December. Here is our updated event schedule for January: 1/12 – 1/19: Relics of the Gree 1/19 – 1/26: Rakghoul Plague – Tatooine 1/26 – 2/2: Bounty Contract Week Thanks everyone! -eric
Bronze/Silver/Gold (BSG) Packs Returning for a Limited Time in SWTOR
Eric Musco just informed the SWTOR community that the Bronze Silver and Gold Packs will be returning for a limited time from Jan 12 to Jan 19. Bronze/Silver/Gold (BSG) Packs Returning for a Limited Time | 01.08.2016, 07:10 PM Hey folks, In early December we took the BSG packs off of the Cartel Market to coincide with the launch of the Strategy Alliance Pack. This certainly raised some questions on when they would be returning. We are going to be bringing the BSG packs back to the Market next Tuesday, January 12th, for a limited time. The BSG packs will remain on the Cartel Market for one week, before being embargoed on Tuesday, January 19th. BSG packs will be treated similarly to other previous grand packs, we will be embargoing them but they are likely to return for limited periods in the future. If you want to get yourself some BSG…

How to Look like Poe Dameron in SWTOR
In another great installment of “how to look like ___” from SWTORista, we have how to look like Poe Dameron. We love these guides she has created that detail exactly how to create a SWTOR character that looks like character’s from the new Star Wars film, “The Force Awakens”“. Here, she tells us how to recreate Poe, the famous pilot. A snippet on getting his outfit just right: Poe’s outfit in the movie is the standard Republic starfighter suit – it’s the same as the ones in the old movies. In SWTOR, there is a few types of pilot suits available, but there is only one close to the one Poe wears in the movie. You could also try dying this uniform with an orange dye! She also tells you how to get the build, hair and face right. You can try different combos to see what comes out best…
Petition to Bring George Lucas Back to Star Wars
He sold out. He said he won’t do anymore films. He had some choice words for Disney when he said he’d sold his children to “white slavers” but then backpedaled and later said he was happy with the fine job Disney was doing with the films. Whatever your personal thoughts about Lucas and his role with the franchise to date, there are some who want to see him return to directing the films. In fact, there are some who wish to see this so badly, they’re petitioning Kathleen Kennedy and Disney via Change.org to bring him back. As the petition reads: Bring back George Lucas for the Star Wars movies. Put the father of the franchise as director of Episode IX . We really want this, please . We have no problem with Colin Trevorrow , but he’s not the right guy to direct Star Wars Episode IX . George Lucas…
Bioware adresses Romance and Courting Gift Bugs in SWTOR
The SWTOR Developers over at BioWare have finally shed some light on the companion romance and courting gift bugs that’s currently in the game. Dear TaitWatson: The Companion Romance System NEEDS to be fixed. | 01.07.2016, 07:41 PM Hey everyone, We have seen quite a few reports about the Romance system being broken, and I wanted to clarify a few things. A number of the issues being reported are not, in fact, bugged. The big one is Iresso. While Iresso is not alone in not acknowledging your romance, he has become the name surrounding the whole situation. In this case, there is a bug – the romance variables for some of the pre-KOTFE companions are being improperly assessed, leading to the appearance that they aren’t romanced even if they are. This fix is scheduled for 4.1 but is not finalized yet. What should have occurred is that when you completed…
Aimbotters a Serious Problem in Star Wars: Battlefront
The PC market for Star Wars: Battlefront is seeing a serious problem with cheating. I recall when the same thing was happening on a massive scale with Counter-Strike and later, CS:GO. While cheating and hacking is still a problem, at least Valve has some safeguards in place to try to combat it and most private servers also have their own protocol for spotting, kicking and banning hackers. View post on imgur.com While the poster of this image is saying they need to fix it or send all PC players a refund (something that sounds a bit unreasonable), he does have a point about the aimbotters being a serious problem. In Star Wars Battlefront, there seems to already be a small PC playerbase, making it more difficult to leave a game with a cheater and just find another lobby. Add to it the fact that it seems the cheaters are multiplying…

The Force Awakens has topped Avatar as the highest-grossing film in North American history, so it’s almost certain that you’ve already seen it. And now that you have, what comes next? Rogue One is still almost a year away, and we still don’t know much about it at all, so there’s nothing much exciting there. There is, however, a monumental amount of books and articles that you should read. Whether for interesting theories, backstories, or just more Star Wars fun, this list will keep Star Wars going all year. Books to Read After The Force Awakens Everyone needs more books! Here are 10 that you should read to get all the backstory, fun facts, and new stories that you need. The Coolest PC Case Ever
I have always loved custom computer builds and I’ve seen a few over the years with Star Wars themes. This one, however, tops them all. You probably can’t even tell from initial photos that there is a PC inside this Star Destroyer. You can see full details of the entire build here. This post, “YAZI” – Venator Class Star Destroyer The BIG finale part 1, explains in detail how it all came together, along with this explanation: “Ok so here is the big finale (wel part 1 of it at least) Due to the fact that MSI asked if they could showcase the YAZI at the International CES 2016 in Las Vegas the whole time table changed. I am very strict op planning, its the only way to get stuff done fast, but this was ridiculous. The call came in about a week before the cutting of the…
Carrie Fisher Tells Her Haters to Shove It
My body is my brain bag, it hauls me around to those places & in front of faces where theres something to say or see pic.twitter.com/T2TXiEyl17 — Carrie Fisher (@carrieffisher) December 29, 2015 As more and more people see the new Star Wars film, one actor in particular is getting more criticism than any other. It seems to have come as a surprise to some people that Carrie Fisher has aged. *sarcastic gasp* Can you believe that? How dare she get older like every other human in history? The biggest critique seems to be not just that Fisher has aged, but that she has not “aged well”. What that means exactly is anyone’s guess. Few similar comments have been made about her returning co–stars Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill. Some might say this is a sexist double standard. It seems men are allowed to age in this society but women…
How to Look like Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens in SWTOR
Even if you have not seen the new Star Wars film yet (what rock have you been living under?), you are probably familiar with Captain Phasma. We’ve seen her in a great deal of marketing promotions for Episode 7. She’s the silver-clad Stormtrooper who is seen as Kylo Ren’s right-hand man. She’s 6 foot 5 inches of badness. The actress who plays her, Gwendoline Christie, is 6’3″. You may recognize her as Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones, or as Commander Lyme in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. © 2015 – Lucasfilm If you’re fond of Captain Phasma, SWTORISTA gives us the breakdown of how to recreate the look in SWTOR, despite the fact the movie is set thousands of years after Star Wars: The Old Republic. Here in this article, she explains exactly how to do it and we think it’s pretty cool. Here’s a snippet: Captain Phasma…

Star Wars The Force Awakens Nets $1B in 12 Days, Gains Domestic Record
Disney said last Sunday that its blockbuster hit Star Wars: The Force Awakens broke the $1 billion mark around the world faster than any other film in history. It broke the previous record holder, “Jurassic World” by one day, earning $1 billion in just 12 days. It had the biggest Christmas day at the box office, and the biggest second weekend at $153.5 million. After just 10 days, it has become the fifth biggest film in U.S. box office history. It’s really not a surprise to anyone that this film is setting records already, is it? I mean, it doesn’t take a genius to predict that, with the popularity of the Star Wars franchise, the hype leading up to this premiere and the sheer excitement from fans across the globe, this was going to be a hit. It was also a good sign when the first tickets went on sale and crashed…
Show Us Your Star Wars!
Whether you’ve seen the new film or been living under a rock the past couple of weeks, it’s very apparent that the Star Wars craze is here to stay. It doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon. With this in mind, I’ve now taken to a little personal gamed called “Spot the Star Wars” and started taking photos of Star Wars items and displays that I come across throughout my daily life. So this got me thinking… what are other people seeing in their parts of the world? With this, an idea was born: Show us your Star Wars! We invite you to head over to our Facebook fanpage and share your own photos of Star Wars scenes, displays, merchandise or other goodies while out and about. We may even feature some of our favorite pics here on the site in a future post. To get it started,…

Is George Lucas Having Seller’s Regret Over the Star Wars Franchise?
Apparently George Lucas now has seller’s regret over the current management of the Star Wars franchise. He doesn’t like the way it’s being handled. He likens it to a breakup, where you just need to move forward and stop looking back (making phone calls, driving by the house, etc.). Has the space opera turned into a soap opera? Perhaps one of the most controversial comments he made were to say he sold Star Wars to “white slavers”, a comment he would later apologize (backpedal?) for. In case you missed the drama as it played out on social media and the news over the past day or two, George Lucas did an interview with Charlie Rose and talked about Star Wars, his arrangement with Disney and more. As part of this interview, the controversial comments above were mentioned. “I sold them to the white slavers that takes these things, and…,” Lucas said…
The Weight of Forgiveness – Star Wars Fan Film
We have something fun and interesting to bring you today. This just released Star wars fan film has our attention. It’s called “The Weight of Forgiveness” and it’s all about the birth of a Jedi. It’s in Italian and it’s about 15 minutes or so in length so it’s a short watch. There are different possible interpretations of the short, which is part of its appeal. The synopsis says it is a Star Wars fan film “open to interpretation” and there have already been several ideas as to what it all means. If you know and love Star Wars (like all of us here do), you may appreciate it on those grounds alone but we ask you to watch it with an open mind and don’t limit yourself just to the Star Wars universe, then see what you think of it. Some say it is the story of redemption of…
Sithmas Cooking with the Colicoids: Building a Gingerbread Harrower-Class Warship
Sithmas Cooking: Building a Gingerbread Imperial Ship Christmas has passed but this idea is so awesome, we think it’s not too late to do it. In fact, we think it’s never too late to do it and what better idea to use up all that extra gingerbread you might have on hand this season? A plain old gingerbread house simply won’t do for a Sith. No, this Sithmas, they needed to build a gingerbread Imperial warship. First, they created a paper template from which to cut their gingerbread pieces. Then, they cut pieces from the template and baked them, then piecing them together to match the paper model. It was a messy project (which you will see from the images) but it sure looked like a lot of fun. Even the imperfections seem to make it better, in my opinion. It looks like a great way to spend an afternoon….
SWTOR 14th Most Played Game in November
While it saw a bit of a dip in the month of November, SWTOR is still in the top 20 most played games, according to Raptr. It was ranked at number 14 for this past month, just below Guild Wars 2 and above Diablo III. It’s above StarCraft II on the list for that month and only beat by behemoths like World of Warcraft, DOTA 2 and Minecraft. League of Legends still dominates the top of the list and CS:GO is also hanging on to a top spot. So what does this mean and why should you care? Well, honestly it gives us a great look at how SWTOR is still holding its own in the gaming scene, especially as an MMORPG. There are many who will try to say that SWTOR is dead or has died but the stats don’t really line up with this. Seeing the game still…

An Absolutely AMAZING SWTOR Christmas Present!
If you wanted something really awesome for Christmas, this would have made a killer present! How about the idea of having an action figure/ model of your own SWTOR character? As you can see, that is a 3D printed version of this person’s character that was given as a surprise gift. After Redditors begged to know where and how this was done, the poster, Dentface, provided a little more info about it. “Details are scare, since it was a surprise gift. All they told me was it was 3D printed then hand-painted.” He then added later, “Update: They contacted people at 3D hubs, who referred some local people who hand-painted and printed the figure.” If you really want one of these for yourself, you can gather up some reference shots of your character from different angles and then look up companies near you (or anywhere if they ship to you) and…
